    Eher Gott sei Dank!

UPDATE: Trailer removed by Lionsgate From the giant bouncing rubber rocks to the horrible dialogue delivery, you can now check out Pathe's promo trailer for the highly anticipated The Descent: Part 2 by clicking over to BDTV. But all flaws aside, the Jon Harris directed sequel looks like it will be loads of fun and filled with plenty of gore! The sequel will continue the story of Sarah, who as the only survivor of an all-female caving expedition gone horrifically wrong, suffers severe psychological trauma. Unable to speak, she accompanies a rescue team back to the cave, but events once again take a sinister turn. Still no word on if Lionsgate will be releasing the film here in the States, we're trying to find out.

Short Film: Half Life - Escape From City 17
    LINK

    Zitat

nspired by the Half-Life 2, David and Ian Purchase created a short film titled Escape from City 17, which chronicles the escape from City 17 by some members of the citizens resistance. The commercial directing duo filmed guerrilla style with no money, no time, no crew, and no script. When they weren’t shooting they were hiding from security patrols in between takes. The spec project ballooned into a multipart series, and the first two episodes were made from beginning to end on a budget of only $500. The short was sent to Valve, who in result flew The Purchase Brothers out to their Seattle headquarters last year. The second episode is nearing completion.

She struggled ever closer, her breath sleeting out in crackling plumes that sank down in sparkling ice crystals. It reminded her of her youth, the nights out on the tundra, when the first snows came, when clouds shivered and shed their diamond skins and the world grew so still, so breathless and perfect, that she felt that time itself was but moments from freezing solid – to hold her for ever in that place, hold her youth, hold tight her dreams and ambitions, her memories of the faces she loved – her mother, her father, her kin, her lovers. No one would grow old, no one would die and fall away from the path, and the path itself, why, it would never end.

    Updated! The Squid Is In!?!?

    Das ist überraschend.

    Zitat

Original von SolothoresThe theatrical cut - which you'll be seeing in less than three weeks! - clocks in at 156 minutes. The Director's Cut will run 190 minutes. And then there will be a cut splicing in "Tales of the Black Freighter" that will run a whopping 205 minutes. Wow.

"I never said, 'The superman exists, and he's American.' What I said was,'God exists, and he's American.' If that statement starts to chill you after a couple of moments' consideration, then don't be alarmed. A feeling of intense and crushing religious terror at the concept indicates only that you are still sane."

The Superman exist, and he's American".

The Hunt for Gollum Trailer (diesmal der full trailer)

So it looks like The Wachowski Bros will NOT Direct Superman
    LINK

    Zitat

Yeah, it looks like the Wachowski Brothers will not be directing the new Superman reboot. I am sure some of you will be happy to hear that, but I am a bit bummed out, I was really interested to see what they could imagine up. /Film has come out to debunk the rumor saying that they got “confirmation from two independent sources that the report was completely false. I don’t know if an interview with James McTeigue actually aired on RTL1 or not (I’m guessing not) but The Wachowski Brothers have definitely never had any talks with DC or Warner Bros to helm a Superman film. This is confirmed.” So I guess we are going back to the drawing board with this one. If was fun while it lasted.

Linda Hamilton in Talks For Terminator Salvation
    LINK

    Zitat

Terminator series star Linda Hamilton has confirmed to MTV that she is in active negotiations with Warner Bros to reprise her role of Sarah Connor in Terminator Salvation. Last month director McG said that they were considering an option that would allow them to have “Sarah Connor do a voice over to open the movie.” Apparently that’s now the plan.

I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is,” Hamilton told MTV. “Wait and see. They’re already writing it. We’ve been negotiating it.

And while I think that a Sarah Connor voice over is the perfect way to introduce the audience to the post-apocalyptic world of the future, it doesn’t exactly seem like a juicy role. Some fans expected Hamilton to turn down the opportunity because the actress turned down an offer to be in Terminator 3 because she thought the character was “disposable” and “negligible”.

    Judge Dredd concept art
    LINK

    Zitat

If you weren't already excited for a Judge Dredd film from the producers of 28 Days Later, check out this early concept art from Losers/2000 A.D. artist Jock.

The new Dredd movie seems to be doing everything right so far — Jock is one of the most exciting artists to come along in recent years, so I'm very encouraged to see him doing concept art for the film. (He's best known for working with writer Andy Diggle on Losers and 2000 A.D., but has also worked on Green Arrow: Year One and Hellblazer.) As Jock himself says, the Dredd concept needs to be redeemed from the 1995 Stallone movie.

Off Topic: Teaser Trailer: Pedro Almodovar’s Broken Embraces
    LINK

    Zitat

The newly arrived teaser trailer for Pedro Almodovar’s Broken Embraces is a thing of beauty, elegance, wit, rich emotion and mystery - five of the top six items on the shopping list of any Pedro Almodovar fan. This gorgeous thing is about as good as teaser trailers get. There’s nothing more I can hope to communicate that the trailer won’t say far more effectively - and aside from the frame you see above, wordlessly.

If you only watch one video online through your computer this week, make it this one. I’ve positioned it below the break to save the servers from melting. The plot of the film is being kept under rather opaque and well secured wraps, but there’s enough in the trailer to give you a clear indication.

Almodovar is deeply set amongst the greatest of all living directors, and even that funny Entertainment Weekly list from yesterday acknowledged that basic truth. For those of you that don’t know his work, I wish I could throw you in a the deep end with a copy of Bad Education but I’d recommend paddling in slowly from Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown or Volver. Go go gadget Netflix, right?

Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch Aiming For March 2011 Release
    LINK

    Zitat

Editor’s Update: Zack Snyder just confirmed to Collider most of our previous story, saying that he plans to begin filming in Fall 2009, aiming for a March 2011 release (300 was released on March 9th 2007, Watchmen hits on March 6th 2009, so I’m guessing the release date for Sucker Punch could be March 11th 2011.) Snyder also called the film an R-Rated “cool action movie”.

Zack Snyder announced plans for Sucker Punch last March, calling it “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns”. According to Uber Slasher Peter Sciretta, “the story is set in the 1950’s, and follows a girl who is confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While imprisoned, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain. In this fantasy world, where she needs to steal five objects to help her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.” There’s definitely some Pan’s Labyrinth, Return to Oz and I Never Promised You a Rose Garden as well as Alice there, intentionally or not
